Phoenix Springs looks like a promising neo-noir point-and-click
It only takes a few seconds for Phoenix Springs to grab your attention. This point-and-click game, with its astonishing graphics, made quite an impression on me this weekend when the trailer first appeared. It’s undoubtedly thanks to a ‘music/graphics’ duo that really grabbed me.
On the one hand, there’s a worrying soundtrack, and on the other hand, hand-drawn graphics with a very distinctive visual style for a video game. We play as Iris Dormer, a journalist who reconnects with her brother, giving her the opportunity to explore a strange environment.
We’re also expecting to see a ‘revival’ of this iconic genre, starting on 16 September 2024 on PC. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the work of Calligram Studio’s mini-team, and wish the 3 members of the team every success.
